Justin Brownlee - F - Chipola College - Tifton, GA -ST. JOHN'S (Signed LOI)

A player of the Rob Thomas mold but pre-injury athleticism. Can play a little 3/4. He is 6'7 200lbs. He is being recruited by a fair amount of schools.

"It's really been Saint John's and Oklahoma State that are recruiting me the most," said Brownlee.

I also know for a fact Pitino is very high on him, and has really jumped on him recently despite it not being reported.

When you're a kid from New York and you do it in New York, that lasts forever!

He's the player who came to the Louisville game this year: http://www.nypost.com/seven/02092009/sports/college/storms_upset_bid_falls_short_154230.htm.

I said it then and I'll say it again: another Junior?

What I heard tonight is we're close to wrapping him up, but Pitino is making a late push.

All that being said, I share Peter's sentiments. Another junior?  Wtf???

Norm and St Johns need to win now. If this kid helps us do that, than whats the problem?

9 of the 13 schollies in one class...I guess Norm doesn't think he's gonna be around in 2 years.

I don't think bringing in this kid is overdoing it.
With our knack for getting hurt depth seems like a great idea to me.

What if Evans or Burrell should get hurt?
We are left Dele Coker, and a smart but slow Thomas inside.

Yikes. Lock him up Norm. According to his juco ranking,
this is no roster filler recruit.

At this point I'd rather take a guy who can play inside then another guard.

I hear that. We have too many guards right now as it is.

For you stat-freaks, per njcaa.org, he averaged 10.1 ppg, 5.7 rpg, and 0.567 bpg, while shooting about 49% from the field and 68% from the FT line and 32% from three.  No clue as to how many minutes he played per game.

He put up 10.7 per game?
There is something missing here.

Is he the 10th best unsigned juco?
