A big man(6'9) from Linden scored 34 and grabbed 15 boards the other night against St. Rays averaging 15 and 11 for the season.

I was at the game and he put in an impressive performance.  i havent seen him against any legitimate bigmen yet (St. Rays used a 6'6" player on him and had trouble matching up) but he finished well underneath and he was something like 12-14 from the free throw line.

Northstar Basketball does college projections for uncommitted seniors.  Agree? Disagree?

DAVID BRUCE, LINDEN (NJ)
Projection: Maryland
Second in Line: St. John's

I hope not- rather save the scholarship for Spring 09 or 2010

Is he any better than Evans ?

Did he play in any of the big summer tournaments?

I never saw his name mentioned

Is the staff on him?  He sounds like a solid prospect.  Maryland's pretty hot on Jordan Williams, according to the reporters who follow them.

I'll also ask, for those who have seen him, how does he compare to James Padgett?

i love david bruce's game. no surprise that KOB loves him seeing as he has similar athleticism to justin burrell.  hes a legit 6'8 or 6'9, has a both a face up and back to the basket game, rebounds well (in 1 game i saw him in he hit something like 11 of his 12 free throws) and he plays for a PHENOMENAL coach in phil collichio at linden.

I really like Gary Williams as a recruiter. I usually really like Maryland teams.

Tiny update (http://www.zagsblog.net/2008/09/09/david-bruce-update-watford-to-indiana/):

David Bruce, a 6-foot-9, 210-pound senior forward from Linden (NJ) High, is still on the board.

Bruce did not travel with an AAU team this summer, staying at home instead.

Still, “St. Joe’s, Maryland, St. John’s, Seton Hall, they’ve all offered,” Linden coach Phil Colicchio said.
