Looks like he posts pics of his shooting drills like Max
-
He plays up in Fairfield near where I live. His team has been #1 or 2 most of the year. He starts as a freshman and has led team in scoring a number of times. He plays with the thin 7 footer UConn is looking at. He is from Cali and plays on a good AAU team there. Loves Chris Mullin for whatever reason. I have not seen him and not sure if he can play at our level. I think he recently visited Fairfield.

His father played with John Mullin, Chris' brother at Bridgeport, also home to Manute Bol. Chris and Mr. Ryan, a highly successful businessman, are also friends.

I've seen him play. He is d1 but right this minute I think he is low to mid.

In my area;
The top-seeded Jesuits shot 52 percent in the first half, rolling to a 63-42 victory over the ninth-seeded Tigers at Alumni Hall.
"I think we had a game plan," Prep coach Leo Redgate said, "and the boys executed it almost to perfection."
Nolan and freshman guard Ryan Murphy each paced Prep with 17 points. The Jesuits advance to the Class LL semifinals for the third straight year and will meet No. 5 East Hartford on Tuesday night at Wilby High in Waterbury.
Providence hot in pursuit of Ryan's teammate;
Prep's 7-foot center Paschal Chukwu dominated inside, grabbing seven first-half rebounds, blocking two shots and altering several others. Chukwu finished with seven points, eight rebounds and four blocks with Providence College coach Ed Cooley on hand scouting him.
"(Chukwu) got into our heads there," Charles said. "He pinned two or three right away early."

Super Soph Camp in Atlanta this weekend;
Most Energetic: Ryan Murphy
"Any time a player wears neon color anything the first reaction is: that guy better know how to play if he’s looking to standout. Well, Murphy won this award for many reasons. He had the greenish yellow neon tights underneath his shorts along with some hot pink Kobe’s. Murphy also showed that his attire was not the only thing people would talk about. He has a nice feel for the game and plays both ends of the floor hard, which is rare to find at any camp. The Connecticut product, who plays for Dream Vision, has intangibles that hard to teach."
“@MrHoopSeen: Here are some of my standouts from this weekend @OloD23 http://hoopseen.com/index.php/news/headlines/item/416-vital-crump-headline-super-soph-recap (http://hoopseen.com/index.php/news/headlines/item/416-vital-crump-headline-super-soph-recap)”

Lived in Cali for a long time. His father, a successful businessman, was from Ct. and moved back to Westport, Ct. a few years back. The dad played at Bridgeport with Manute Bol and John Mullin. He is close to the Mullins and Mark Jackson. That's why Ryan loves the Johnnies. I live in same area and pull for the kid, but not sure if he is BE level player. He is a gym rat for sure.
-
He seems like a smart, gritty player. Just the vibe I've gotten from the few vids.

Absolutely, also never a bad thing to have players who loved the program before they started getting recruited by them.
-
I like that video a lot. I feel like the Johnnies could benefit w/ a guy like that. Question though, who's number 6 in that vid, I hope we're looking at him lol

Only a Soph, but this may be his level. time will tell.;

This is in no way a criticism, because I appreciate all the recruiting info the "insiders" bring...but why so many posts on this kid? St. John's isn't on him and so far it doesn't appear he's a Big East level player. Plus he's 3 years away. Just curious.

I wouldnt say we aren't on him. He has been to countless games and is friendly with both the staff and many players.
-
I have posted about him a lot, because of precisely what Moose noted. Maybe he won't be offered down the road, but I can tell you with certainty he loves the Johnnies. We'll see how he develops.

It was a good day to see standout individual performances though, as quite a few players rose up and had big time games on the iS8 stage. Here is a recap of the day's action.
The Rens (Artie) decimate NJ Trailblazers 77-56
This game, like many of the games on Sunday, was over by the end of the 1st quarter. Ryan Murphy (Fairfield Prep, CT '16) set the pace in the early going, as the new point guard for The Rens was in control making effective passes in transition, while also burying a pair of threes. Travis Atson (Christ the King '15) was the main beneficiary in the opening quarter of Murphy's passes, breaking out and getting the ball down the floor, finishing with 2 big throwdowns. The duo combined for 23 first quarter points as The Rens jumped out to a 15 point lead.
It only got worse in the 2nd quarter as Adonis Delarosa (Christ the King '14) and Rawle Alkins (Christ the King '16) joined the offensive barrage, with Alkins showing a nice ability to step out and consistently connect on the long range jumper, and Delarosa as well adding versatility into his game, putting the ball on the floor and attacking the rim, which with his 6'10" frame, makes him even more dangerous if he can effectively do that in big game situations.
One of the lone bright spots for the Trailblazers was Hassan Burke (St. Benedict's Prep, NJ '14). The 6'3"' guard was the one player for the Jersey squad who seemed to not be rattled by the defense of The Rens, as he was able to get out and finish in the open floor, plus he was an effective shooter from the outside. His game though was not able to match the intensity and effectiveness that The Rens played with as they went up 49-25 at the half, and never looked back. Pulling their key players for much of the 4th quarter as they eased home for the win.
Atson led The Rens once again with 25 points, adding another solid effort to his statement making tournament thus far. Murphy, who was playing his first event with The Rens added 15 points, and a handful of assists, while Alkins had 13 points, 9 of which came in the 2nd quarter. - See more at: http://nychoops.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1561506#sthash.Yvc0S40f.dpuf (http://nychoops.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1561506#sthash.Yvc0S40f.dpuf)

On a lighter note, it is clear the Murphy family loves the Johnnies. Photo telling! Good player to emulate.

Hope we do. I feel he is the kind of kid who would contribute over four years. He is heady, team oriented, dedicated player, who can shoot capably. I will see him play Hurley's St. Anthony's squad this season in Fairfield for better sense of his potential.

Harvard has offered. Am biased, but this is type of intelligent, pass first type guard we should consider. He is similar to those complementary,four year players who contribute at the Butlers, Creightons of the world;
@TheRecruitScoop: 2015 guard Myles Stephens & 2016 guard Ryan Murphy will attend the Harvard-Boston College Basketball game today.
