Title: Logan's 2014-2015 Bracketology
Post by: LoganK on March 05, 2015, 09:17:18 AM
*Be nice, this is my first time ever attempting this  :).  Started off easy, became a pain in the ass once I got to about the 4/5/6 seeds.  Starting with Stephen F Austin I used whatever teams Lunardi had in...ain't nobody got time to check all the little conferences.

Logan’s Tournament Seeding (3/5/15):

1: Kentucky, Virginia, Duke, Villanova
2: Wisconsin, Gonzaga, Arizona, Kansas
3: Notre Dame, Maryland, Oklahoma, Iowa State
4: Northern Iowa, Wichita State, Baylor, Utah
5: West Virginia, UNC, Arkansas, Butler
6: Georgetown, Louisville, SMU, Providence
7: Iowa, Dayton, Ok State, VCU
8: San Diego State, St. John’s, Oregon, Cincinnati
9: Michigan State, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Georgia
10: LSU, Indiana, NC State, Xavier
11: Colorado State, Purdue, Boise State, Temple/Texas
12: Davidson/Miami, STEPHEN F AUSTIN, WOFFORD, MURRAY STATE
13: VALPARAISO, LOUISIANA TECH, IONA, HARVARD
14: CENTRAL MICHIGAN, UC DAVIS, GEORGIA STATE, SOUTH DAKOTA STATE,
15: ALBANY, WILLIAM & MARY, NEW MEXICO STATE, NORTH CAROLINA CENTRAL
16: ST FRANCIS (NY), BUCKNELL, SACRAMENTO ST/TEXAS SOUTHERN, CHARLESTON SOUTHERN/NORTH FLORIDA

Last Four In: Temple, Texas, Davidson, Miami
First Four Out: Texas A&M, Stanford, Tulsa, BYU
Also Considered: UCLA, Illinois, ODU, Pitt

Major differences between myself and Bracketmatrix.com:  Texas and Davidson in, Tulsa and Texas A&M out.  Louisville and Ohio State two seed lines down.  Cincinnati three lines up, Oregon two lines up. Everyone else within one seed line.

From the 13 seeds down is however Lunardi has it in his bracket.  Any entries are subject to change based on games between now and selection sunday, or if I just decide it is so.

How about the story of the kid who hit the game winning shot. From Australia 4 years ago came here just as mother diagnosed with cancer. This season when things got bad went home to be with her for 2 weeks, sadly she passed away and he returned to team to be the hero today. Great story and happy for the kid. Feel for SB who has been coming so close only to encounter heartbreak city once again.

The most incredulous part of the story is that the player is probably the 2nd best player in the entire league and the Danes went 8 and 0 in his absence!  It's like if we lost 3'lo, or Dom, for 8 games in the middle of the season, but even more so.  How would we do?

Speaks to the kind of roster balance we could only dream of.

Jaspers are my team that everyone now will love to hate with their bearded, ticket scalping, degree skipping, face losing head coach...  :tickedoff:

Bracketology is in the process of being changed.  I kinda left an entire component out of my final S-Curve, so....stand by.

So, I missed on three teams (not counting forgetting to update the AQ to show Eastern Washington instead of Montana).  I had Colorado St (who didn't), Temple, and UConn (knew UConn was a reach) in.  I didn't have UCLA (who did), Ole Miss (first team out), BYU (said I'd be wrong on them, second team out).

Overall:  65 of 68 teams.
30 teams correctly seeded.
22 teams within one seed line.
12 teams within two seed lines.
1 team 3 seed lines off (Dayton)
3 teams left out.

By bracket matrix standards that puts me at 307 out of 408, which is pretty terrible compared to past years.  Not the worst ever, but pretty bad.  Hopefully this was a bad year for everyone and I can save some face, lol.
