James Scott for me, 100%.

Anyone who played for Mahoney or Norm should be excluded from this because they were not coached at all.

Mahoney wasn't a good coach. He was horrible. But some of kids were so selfish, they just ignored good direction, and I witnessed Mahoney giving it to several players. Zendon wasn't able to be coached by Mahoney or Frascilla. At that point, who gets the blame? I put it on the player.

So if a player has multiple coaches, neither of whom reach him, he is uncoachable?  Isn't it just as possible that neither were good coaches?

Fran dropped his pants and grabbed his sack in front of the team.  Maybe some of you old geezers find that old school and reminsicent of the good old days, but yeah would not be a preferred method of a "good" coach if you ask me.

Fran was a great recruiter and OK coach at times.  That's enough to succeed in college as long as you dont do anything stupid.

It's not like Zendon was coached by Louie or Coach K or Brad Stevens or Boeheim (for you Poison) here.  It was Mahoney and Fraschilla.

I don't know why you keep mentioning Boeheim and you direct it at me, but if it makes you feel good about yourself, enjoy. It's senseless. But enjoy, kid.

You cannot be serious right ? I can't imagine anyone on this board who reads it regularly not understanding why I direct Syracuse and boeheim comments at you.   It would be like me being confused why someone directs a coach k comment at me....

I have said for years, and often that I really respect Boeheim's approach to building a team. He recruits a very specific type of player. I would like our program to have strategies like that one. Don't you?

If you think that makes me a fan, you are confused. I'm an admirer. The same way I am with Coach K, and Tom Izzo.

I've tabulated the votes in this thread. It appears the most frustrating players in SJ history were

Single season assist leader and NBA player Omar Cook

Zendon Hamilton, who averaged nearly a double double for his career and played half a dozen years in the NBA

NBA player Felipe Lopez, the third leading scorer in school history

McDonalds all american and cup of coffee NBA player James Scott, who averaged 12 pts/4 reb /2 ass in two years

BE sixth man of the year Justin Burrell

At first glance that might look the Saint John's Third All Century team. But when you have the storied history of winning that Saint John's does, those guys are the loosers.

Boeheim and Syracuse are cheaters.  No I don't want Matt and slice logging onto our players emails and emailing with administration for them. Personally I'd like them to actually go to class and have the coaches enforce it.

Oh yeah and I'd prefer if any of our coaches are married that their wives aren't regularly sleeping w the players.  I don't know about you but that kind of creeps me out as a recruiting tactic. But maybe it's just me.

Who was better Paris Horne or Derrick brown?

Hilton.

Felipe ran like a gazelle and leaped like a kangaroo.  Third leading all-time scorer and when he subbed out the team looked like they couldn't beat a juco team.  Only thing he's guilty of is being over-hyped and missing the three against Detroit.
