Hey guys. I run a blog called Hoops House Row, and we just finished up our St. John's piece. Thought I'd share with the Johnnies faithful. Enjoy.

The game you chose last season, saw the place at it's best.  That was the one game all year that I thought the crowd was totally behind the team 100%.  Obviously, that was a function of the previous two games.

Come on a Wednesday night in December, against a low major non-conference opponent, and Carnesecca Arena paints a very different picture.

What a great piece, you captured the spirit and energy of CA at its peak in the atmosphere section, great job.

Did I say anything untrue?  No.  Neither did this reviewer, BTW.  It's a good review, and very well-written, too.

I love the place when it's full.  The St. Mary's game a few years back, is one of the great experience you can have in sports (for a fan).  There have been many others in that building, over the years, too.  But, you must admit, there was a lot more atmosphere (not to mention more people) for the Marquette game last year, then there was for, say, the Central Connecticut game.

That's not the case at all places.  I'm not just talking about the blue bloods.  If we even got to the level of say, a Butler or a Creighton, CA would not have the same raucous crowds that they do, even at the softest of non-conference games.

I assumed because of the attendance figures for most of the games, the atmosphere was similarly crazy most of the time. I'm glad I caught it on a good day! I was walking out of a game at Temple and stuck my head into the window of a sports bar to see you guys beating Nova a few nights before and thought excellent, the place will be electric on Saturday.
