An Ugly Trend

In the Last two games 40% of our total shots taken have been 3's. The reason for this is we have no answer for the zone which forces the only open shots being perimeter ones. Shooting perimeter shots also leads to less opportunities to get fouled which is the cause for only going to the line 29 times in the last two games while our opponents have gone to the line 71 times for a difference of 42 shot attempts. In addition to failing getting to the line, we haven't even been good from the "charity" stripe either. Our opponents have gotten 35 more points from the line in two games. Until we learning how to take the ball to the basket or find the holes in the zone I expect this trend to continue at the very least we looked good from 3 last game if you want to look at a lone bright spot.

It seems like that other than Burrell, fast breaks and the occasional drive by Wright all our shots come from 3 point range.  I know this isnt true but we are not a 3 point shooting team and we need to cool it with them.  It kind of scares me with Mase coming back because he showed last year that sometimes he falls in love with the three.  We need to do a better job of slashing and dishing because thats what we have the talent to do.

very few adjustments are made to sole this problem.  players arent finding gaps in the zone and are settling for shots way too often.  this is all a part of bad game coaching
