« on: December 18, 2008, 10:02:23 AM »
Time to get in the holiday spirit here...what are people's top 10 can't miss Christmas movies?

I'll rank mine right now as:

1. It's a Wonderful Life
2. White Christmas
3. Home Alone
4. Miracle on 34th Street
5. Love Actually
6. A Christmas Story
7. Why the Grinch Stole Christmas (cartoon version)
8. Elf
9. A Christmas Carol
10. Die Hard (I would have this higher rating against these as sheer movies, but while takes place in Christmas time, I can't really consider it a "Christmas movie"...but it still has to be on this list
"I drink and I know things"

Great list and great thread kid. Love Actually? Never seen that one. A Christmas Story, A Christmas Carol(George C. Scott) and Elf would be higher on the list for me.

Where's Christmas Vacation? :o

good call!

I've been trying to think of christmas movies

1. Home Alone- forget christmas this is one of my favorite movies
2. Christmas Carol (almost all versions)
3. Charlie Brown(if you consider it a movie)
4. Grinch
5. Christmas Vacation
6. Home Alone 2 (I'm a home alone junkie)
7. Scrooged
8. March of the Wooden Soilders
9. It's a wonderful life
10. Elf

I heard Bad Santa is really funny but I've never seen it. Also I don't get the obsession with its a christmas story, I just can't get into it.

No, the Burgermeister is in Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Winter Warlock, Jessica the Teacher and the Penguin.  The Year Without a A Santa Claus was the one with the Heat and Cold Miser brothers if I'm not mistaken.

I'm Mr. Heat Miser, I'm Mr. Hot. Good call.

And A Christmas Story is by far the greatest Christmas movie of all time. Everyone associates the whole 'you'll shoot you're eye out' with the movie, but it is the smaller parts of the movie that make it great to me. Scut Farkus and his 'little toadie' Grover Dill terrorizes the boys the whole movie and then Ralphie just beats the living shit out of Farkus. Or when Ralphie curses and then tells his mother that he heard it from his friend Schwartz, and then his mother calls the Schwartz household and you hear Mrs. Schwartz screaming at her son and beating him. Just soo many good scenes..

Love Actually? Never seen that one.

I'm still not sure if it's actually a "good" movie, but it's highly entertaining. Plus there's nudity.
