from what ive seen and heard idk how much interest he ever had in st johns...i read articles years ago where he described it as a dream job, and then saw articles where he said he was never interested...could be that he was interested and they turned him down and he was pissed and said he never wanted to be here anyway or could be he said he was interested to drive up the price of his contract at memphis, who knows...fact is, at this point anyone with an actual plan is better than norm, but at st johns, we shouldn't have to settle for just a step up from norm...we shouldn't have to say, oh so and so would never come here, bc we're st johns...regardless of whats happened with other schools upgrading facilities and being successful, we are st johns...if the Yankees starting this year, became a train wreck for 5 or 6 years, wouldn't u still wanna coach them...u throw a decent offer at someone, use the city and its $$$ to your advantage, then coaches will come...college basketball programs can be turned around from garbage into national contenders in no time at all with a big name getting high recruits
