Again, you guys are right. Baylor will be a sweet 16 team next year, especially wiht all the 4,5 star players theyve had the past couple of years

To be better than SJU all you have to do is win more games than you lose, which is amazingly pathetic considering SJU's out of conference schedule!

Baylor would get their heads beat in in the Big East, much like we did.

Baylor is better than us and we would not have done well in the Big 12 either

LOL

You are nuts.  You think the Big 12 is some crap conference?  OU beatup Syracuse in the Sweet 16 and Kansas played Michigan State closer than either Louisville or Uconn.  Big12 had one weak team...the Big East had seven.

St. John's would have won fewer games in the Big 12, because there were no automatic wins.  They have not South Florida or Depaul.

Big East has more teams. Iowa St,Texas Tech and even powerhouse Colorodo sucked. I'll be sure to be looking for Baylor and Georgetown in the Sweet 16 next year :D

wait, wait, wait...ok, so now you are saying st johns is a stepping stone job?...ok, so you are saying someone would come to a prestigious program (and dont even start with the we arent prestigious anymore bc of 7 bad years) and rebuild it, and then leave once its good again...maybe you dont know this but we are a basketball school, in nyc, and a power conference...if a coach rebuilt this program he would not leave unless he truly could get ALOT more money, but even if "he" did leave once the program was good again, anyone would want the job from then on out anyway so who cares

and there is no more focus on nyc than any other town in america...well im not addressing that...if you really believe that then theres no point in arguing with you...you cant argue with a crazy person...i tried with marco with the whole baylor situation but he'll still have u believe that making the big 12 finals and NIT finals a year after making the ncaa tournament still means you're not "back", so whatever, yea, let knight go coach in Alaska bc theres the internet and espn

While historically STJ is big time program time has passed them by.  The days when a glorified commuter school with a high school gym paying peanuts to head coaches is going to compete with state school exposure, facilities, budgets and boosters are long gone.

Now, should there be a complete turn around in the administration and athletic department where they give the slightest indication that they give a hoot about putting a competitive product on the floor and funding the program appropriately then maybe there's a chance to compete with the top of the conference.

But as long as they shortchange the program and the coach then it's a stepping stone job.  I know you all think that these legendary ex-NYers (and has been coaches if we're to continue to include RMK in this delusion) are dying to get their hands on this shell of a STJ program, and throw away about $10 million over a four year contract in the process, to turn it around.  God, I wish you were right.

PS  I'm on your side on the Baylor thing in that while they really had no history to get back to they've made a remarkable recovery from extreme depths and all with a non marquis name coach, albeit one whose dad and bro did have their 10 seconds of hoops immortality oh so many dances ago.

But if you're going to measure yourself up against the true great programs like UNC, Duke, UCLA, Kansas, et al then if you're Baylor or STJ, well good luck.
