Starting lineup for 2009-2010

Yes, but they also should have won the national championship that year if it wasn't for a HORRIBLE call in that UNC game.  We are not talking about that caliber of a team.  We are talking about slipping into the NCAA tournament AT BEST. 

Allan Ray is not even an NBA player.  Kyle Lowrey is a backup.  Let's not make it seem like they were three lottery picks.  Nardi didn't even get a sniff. 

That team also went:  6'0- 6'1-6'2-6'4.    we would be going 6'0-6'3-6'7-6'6  1-4.  It's not really four guards...it's three SF's.

Nardi made big bucks over in Italy. Also Allan Ray did play for the celtics for a short stint.

I agree we have much more size, a point I was going to make. +1 for Marillac.

Guys....

I think we have a squad this year where there may be a starting lineup that is consistent. However, that will not mean they will all get consistent minutes every game.

I think Norm will play who is playing well (or matching up well to the other players) that particular night.

For instance, if Horne is not hitting his shots... in comes Hardy. If Hardy is not hitting his, maybe its Omari.

If Boothe is not playing well... in comes Stith for mins. If he doesn't do well... we go big with Horne, Hardy, Kennedy, Omari and/or Brownlee brining up the rock.

Therefore, most of the guys are going to have to produce in the game if they want minutes that night.

I also agree with this. Even if we look solely at Norm's track record he has always started with more of a "traditional" starting lineup. TJ would start play 4 min and we wouldn't see him for the rest of the game. I'm not saying I agree with this strategy but I'd assume it holds true.

To also go to some of Marillac's lineups the race track lineup sounds like a fun lineup. We need to get these guys to have amazing motor and run, run, run and out hustle other teams all game. Run till you can't breathe and when you can't a fresh body who can run, run, run will be ready to run, run, run. We won't need a half court offense if we can defend and rebound the ball.

Also to note about Boothe. I won't even look at his numbers but the team as a whole played better when he was in. I think the injury really hindered his ability. Not to say he is going to be lights out but try playing basketball with no thumb.

He has his limitations but we just need him to play within himself and for him not to be something he is not (scorer, jump shooter). Let him drive and kick and if the defense backs off him so much make them pay by making layups(and free throws).

I'd like to see Boothe penetrate and kick it out for the wide open 3 for Hardy. Lord knows,, we missed a ton of wide open 3's-hopefully with Hardy that problem is addressed

I would like to see Boothe stop making cool crisp fancy bounce passed the other team's lead guard.

In the Gtown game in the BE tourney, he did that 3 times.

this might be Norm's deepest team, but he struck out in landing a top flight point guard so we're left hoping that someone other than Boothe can take his job away.

That is this year's x-factor. We may be inproved in many areas but we need a big east point guard. It can be a scoring point guard, but that position has to be given to someone other than Boothe, or the rest is meaningless.

1) Edmonsen replaced by Stith
2 Wait & Tomas replaced by Omari, Hardy & Brownlee
3) A healthy Mase ?

In effect, our 3 worst players (?) replaced by
  5 immediate rotation players
No player should play more then 25 min/g the 1st 2 months

We lost two big men that couldn't compete at the Big East level,
and replaced them with 3 guards.

If anything happens to any of our big men, we'll be in the same boat Norm always puts us in. Hopefully, Brownlee can play inside.

Brownlee sounds like a 4 with some "3" skills.
He's 6'7 & averaged 5.7 rebounds.

With 5 bigs in Coker, Evans, Justin, Brownlee & Rob (a 3/4),
I'm more concerned with depth @ PG than the 4/5

Fair enough. I'm hoping the injury had a lot to do with his play.
