On the court, St. John's was finishing off a win over Stony Brook. High in the stands at Carnesecca Arena, the fans were finally putting a voice to what every Red Storm follower has been thinking.
"We want Duke! We want Duke!" they chanted.
St. John's will get them Saturday afternoon when they travel to Cameron Indoor Stadium Saturday to face the No. 6 Blue Devils in what is the biggest regular-season game for the Johnnies in a long time. The Storm this week received votes in both national polls for the first time in nearly three years and, as forward Justin Burrell said Tuesday, "We need one big win and that will be the thing that will put us over the top" and into the Top 25.
