It means something to our image and rep.  We have been a joke for five + years.  To see a #23 next to St. John's on the schedule or the TV will make a lot of folks say "really?"  It can only help with recruiting.

with a rough early BE schedule, if we don't get there in the next 2 weeks we might not get their all year yet still be a bubble team.  I think it's impt. for recruiting to get into the top 25 at some point in addition to making the tourney.

I agree.  If we don't get in there before the G'town game, it will become very hard to get there at all.  After ten games, we deserve to be ranked.  Although I am almost glad we are not for the game tonight.  How many times do you see a team get ranked for the first time only to lose to a lesser team in its next game?

G'town is a very winnable game.  They just lost to Old Dominion at home.  They have ZERO depth, and that is probably our strong point.  I think they are more deserving of a ranking from 25-40 than 15-24.  A win at G'town puts us in the top 25 for sure, possibly the top 20.

I think a win at Gtown followed by a win against Providence (assuming we beat cornell and bryant) vaults us into the top 20.  A loss to Cornell followed by wins against Bryant, GTown, and Prov maybe we're top 25 bc everyone loves gtown.

If we keep winning games it will all take care of itself.  Let's just play well tonight and get by Cornell, pad our stats against Bryant and get ready for Georgetown and the Bigeast.

Notre Dame is going to need Luke to drop 40 to beat us this year.

Agreed. However, I don't think it will ever come to that because Dele, Evans, Brownlee, Thomas and Burrell (hopefully) combined will wear him down.

brownlee cant contain him, hes good but no shot on him, evans only has a shot at defending him if he gets hit and gets pissed cause he great in a rage but if not he doesnt have the heart

DUD: St. John’s stay in the Top 25 poll will be short-lived. Let’s face it – there’s no shame in losing to Cornell – especially without two of the Red Storm’s top players, Anthony Mason and Justin Burrell – but we’ve got to hand this award out to someone and St. John’s gets the nod

Sorry Jeff Goodman, but there is definitely a little bit of shame in St. John's losing to Cornell.  This is the same Cornell team that lost by double digits to both Seton Hall and Syracuse.  St. John's has a home game against them and they find a way to get outplayed on their court.  This is year six under Norm and it's a team full of veteran players.  There are no excuses any longer.  This is a game St. John's should have won.
