DWI seems like an NBA right of passage.
Maybe it's time the NBA asks these kids to grow up.

Make the age minimum 22.

Those two guys on the wizards sure have could used some growing up time.

nice persons. No different than Jayson Williams. The gun go could off.
Especially if the guy holding it is just a stupid kid.

1) How is the age minimum related at all to Jayson?  Jayson didn't bolt early.  He graduated.  How would an age minimum have changed him at all?

2)  On the topic of age minimums, I'd prefer something where you're allowed to go straight from HS to the NBA, but if you don't you need to play 3 years in college.  This one and done business is a bunch of crap and the kids don't even show up for their classes second semester.  What's the point of having 18 and 19 year olds in college playing bball if they aren't actually going to class?

At 18 you can vote and fight in war.  You should be allowed to pursue whatever profession you like.  But if you go to college, you should actually be forced to learn.  It's a privilege, not a right.

Kid, it's not a perfect solution, or system.
But what they have now, overall, isn't working.

That's my point. You're right Williams did stay 4 years.
But there are more Leon Smiths lately than ever before.

If you make the age minimum, it might wind up making sense to some of these kids to go to class. What would they have to lose if they went to class? If the NBA wouldn't take them until 21-22, then they might as well.

The league needs a few new ideas. Bit saying mine is perfect, but they need to do something.
