Master of the Media
« on: October 16, 2010, 12:44:52 PM »
I am thoroughly overwhelmed at how we've gone from completely invisible, and practically worthless to the most popular program in the country.

Yes, I'm not kidding. We've been in more headlines than Duke, Kentucky, Syracuse and Kansas.

The nay sayers said Lavin had been out of the loop for too long, but in reality, the last 7 years at ESPN has turned Lavin into a media genius.

Our time has finally come. And our suffering will make this comeback that much sweeter.

So if I hadn't said it before, I'll say it now, thank you Steve Lavin for coming here. If there is a bball savior of any kind, it's you.

I don't know about most popular, but we are certainly up there this off season...it's been remarkable

Lavin past experience at ESPN has def helped.  Whether he's pulling strings due to  his relationships there or his former colleagues are helping him out.  I think you can see that from being one of the 8 schools to be shown on midnight madness and having his commits announce on their decisions on ESPNU.

He's been a godsend thus far.
