Sean Evans...

Is it possible to cut him or send him down to the practice squad? But seriously, how bad is this guy and why does he see the floor. I love Lavin but come one, Evans should just ride bench.  If he does, he should be told that if you shoots or puts the ball on the floor he is benched. He is so frustrating to watch because he is just all over the place.

Last year I brought up the fact that Sean Evans was not a Division 1 player. You guys attacked me like there was no tomorrow. I hope this season you guys finally came to your sense. Only took you over 365 plus days to realize....

Idk what is up with DJ. I had such high hopes for him before the season. He seems like he never wants to take a jumper or drive to the basket. He needs to man up and start taking games over like he is capable of.  I have hope with DJ but Evans is just useless, he always has been.

Evans is just incapable of playing intelligent basketball.  When he gets a touch, he looks different than EVERY SINGLE PLAYER on the floor for both teams.  He is rushed, looks panicked, and he's way to quick to try and do something he just doesn't have the skills to pull off conisistently.

I expect him to do something stupid every time he touches the ball.  He's like a time bomb.   Why make a move to the basket when you (a) don't have the skills to pull it off and (b) can't make free throws if you are fouled?

Lavin really earned his first loss from a coaching blunder tonight. 

Its not that Evans is incapable its as marillac put it. He is incapable of playing intelligent basketball.

In the first half he took a bounce off after the team moved the ball so well without it touching the floor. He had the path but took the bounce and at the very least he picked up a foul against Nicholson. Still he should have went right up.

He can't shoot, he can't defend, and he doesn't show the hustle 100% of the time on rebounds. I thought he'd accept his role as a rebounder but he clearly hasn't even done that.

DJ is a decent player, but some folk on this board and other boards made him out to be a star.  I saw a pretty decent player on bad teams.

I think he's a good complimentary player on a good team, but no one you would want to consistently count on.  He also doesn't have a right hand.

I'm not gonna tear these guys to pieces, as they are still amateurs.  But, I've never been too high on Evans.  He has a good motor; plays with energy and hustles, but he doesn't play from the neck up.  Nor does he have an offensive game.

I assume these are good kids and they took a schlolarship to play for a major D-1 school (who wouldn't?) in one of the best basketball conferences in the nation.  So, I can't blame 'em.  Many of 'em probably wouldn't be in this position, if Roberts knew what he was doing.

A bunch of complimentary players--who are somewhat limited and does not one thing well--getting major minutes and this is what you get.

I disagree MJ...DJ is a pretty good player and can do more than what he's showing. I'm not sure if its a lack of confidence or aggression but he can create his own shot and convert yet he rarely takes the chance.

DJ turns the ball over as any player does during course of the game. I don't think he is prone to committing turnovers though.

Team's gonna need Evans' size, but it was funny seeing Mo Hicks and Chiles get frustrated over that... "shot" Evans took.  More like a heave.

But you have to remember this: Lavin is known for early season losses. It's partly because he experiments in the non-con with lineups from time to time... and this experiment taught him that the team needs more work. Thought it was interesting that he left Evans in after Sean's 4th foul - that says to me that the decision was intentional, to see how Sean responded.

Remember that he is an amateur.

I thought our depth was better then theirs. The way we have been driving to the hoop lately I thought we would get those guys in foul trouble and run away with this one.

Our Depth should of been better than them.  They had what, 2 guys play off the bench?  They only had 9 dressed.  Our bench outscored them by 30, it was our starters that got killed last night.  Evans is miserable to watch.  Young guy are not, he is old enough to adapt to the change and he just does not care to do so.  He does not care what system it is, it is all about him doing what he wants, good or bad.

Kennedy to me has not bought into the system and that is killing us and himself.  Last year, it was his team.  As he went so did the team.  This year, Lavin has asked others to step up and make this  team a winner by a combination of players and Kennedy has not handled it well at all.  He shows no fight and is just going through the motions right now.  I mean 6 points, at home, really against st. bons?  Ok, maybe I am not giving credit to their players, but why should I, they are a team that has 9 guys playing and picked 13th in a 14 team conference.

We might have A10 talent, but even A10 talent should be able to defend their home court to a really bad A10 opponent.  I was very dissapointed with them last night.  Seeing, M. Stith for the 3rd or 4th game in a row have to hit a desperation shot clock buzzer beater is telling me that they are lost right now on offense. 

Sometimes, I wonder if they would rather still be playing for Norm and lose as long as they got to do belly flops in his pool again.  I know it is only one game and we are 5-2 but I do not think their is a person on here that is looking at the big picture and not just our record right now. 

I know I'm hating but I'm only saying the truth. I don't care if Evans is an amateur or not, he is not a good basketball player.  He has been on the team for 4 years now and I think he got worse. St.John's is a big time program and they play in the Big East (Evans shouldn't even play d-1).  Evans should not see the floor plain and simple. Regarding his size, it's not like he plays big because he puts the ball on the floor more then any other player on the team. He is a walking turnover.

  this is where you are wrong. We haven't been a big time program for a while.  Evans fits in perfectly with this group.
