Tell me why...

tickets are not selling for the Rutgers game?  A half-filled Alumni hall and the ultimate in let down/trap games, a perceived "lesser" opponent sandwiched in between the "Puke classic" and the "Lavin returns" games both on national network television is a recipe for disaster.

I'm very concerned about the prospects of this Wednesdays game we have to have.  Rutgers, Depaul and South Florida are the potential wins that we absolutely can not do without!

The Rutgers game is a much more important game to this season than the Puke game yet nobody is going.  Oh well.

I wouldn't underestimate Rutgers. What they don't have in talent, they make up in hustle and effort. They play with a big time chip on their shoulder too.

In the end I think St. John's pounds them inside but I wouldn't sleep on them by any means.

Rutgers has had a rough go in the BE, but they are a much better team this season. Like us, it's hard to focus on the guy you gotta stop, but hopefully the embarrassment of getting housed in NJ last year will be enough motivation to come out of the gate playing hard, and keeping it up. Hopefully, we'll continue to bring the intensity on defense for 40 minutes.

Rutgers is gonna give us trouble.  They're phenomenally well coached.  I really WANT to dislike Rutgers but I really love Mike Rice as a coach.

As for the attendance, I think figures are low because of the weather outlook.  I will most likely be coming into Queens for this game as long as Metro-North trains are running that evening.

Our don't bring it every game. They need a reason to play hard.
Louisville, Cinci and GTown are all teams we beat recently  so why bother
playing hard this time around?

For this game, they have their motivation.

Two big reasons why tickets are not selling.

1. The weather is scaring people right now. You will more than likely see a surge in the amount of tickets sold right before the game as long as the weather is not too bad.

2. 9:00 on a Wednesday night. A family that is interested in bringing a younger kid to see a basketball game is not coming out on a school night at 9:00.

Not unless you have bad parents like myself.  ;D

This 9:00 game isn't for families.

The students need to show for this one.
Maybe the weather will be so bad, they'll be stranded,
and they'll be forced to go.

That would be awesome. They university could force them to have school spirit.

Ah, I don't think "school spirit" can be forced?
