Louie was among the first and gave many coaching clinics in Europe and even West Block nations and is credited with helping them Americanize their game.

“@EvanDanielsFOX: Watched 2015 prospect Karl Towns for the first time yesterday. Tremendous long term prospect. Rebounded well. Shot maker out to 23-feet.”

“@EvanDanielsFOX: At 6-9, Towns is long. Wasn't afraid to play physical against much older guys. Great touch around the rim. Elite prospect in the 2015 class.”

Playing with Dominican team will really add to his development competing against more mature players.

Lav will not recruit a kid unless he is %100 percent sure he has a shot. I agree %110 percent with this philosophy. Put your energy into someone you can get

Remember his introductory function with alums and he said he doesn't waste bullets.  He has definitely followed thru on that mantra.

Agreed with that philosophy 100%.

The great thing about having Coach Lavin is he does not have to recruit a kid just to get SJU's name mentioned for the free publicity even though he knows SJU has no shot with the kid.

He knows he can get big time kids, not getting every big time kid or not being able to get a certain big time kid is of no concern to him.

It seems to me that Willard and Company are taking the same approach as Roberts did. Get the fans excited that you recruiting the local big dog that you have no chance of getting.

With that said, kids like to get away and then realize home isn't a bad thing and then transfer close to home and schools like Iona get lucky with a Sledge and Momo Jones, Seton Hall with Sterling Gibbs and to some extent Wally Judge (close to DC), Hofstra with Kareem Canty, and Providence with Sidiki Johnson and Tyler Harris.

The above players would likely never have considered those schools the first time around as they wanted bigger and better things,

“@NextCats: Karl Towns' AD on possible reclassification: “I think it’s going to be this year, next year and gone.” Meaning class of 2014.”
