Hey - Coach Lavin has a contact for Justin over there!

Japanese league All-Star J.R. Sakuragi!

JR is former Lavin player JR Henderson.  After he was cut by the Grizz, he went to Japan.  Been there ever since, married a Japanese girl.  Became a Japanese citizen in 2007.

Godzilla!

Keeping it real. He has to do awesome in Japan, put up monster numbers or else its over for him. That's the way these overseas leagues work.

used to be.   Nowadays guys are heading overseas, making decent cash for a couple years, THEN coming back for the short end money in the NBDL in order to crack the League.  Worked for VT's Zabian Dowdell last season - spent 2 years in the Italian league, came back to the NBDL - got a call up to the Suns, and finished the season with them.

I would have liked to see Burrell go to Spain, Germany, or Italy to more competitive leagues. Regardless I wish Justin the best success in Japan.

England, Ireland, Australia, China, and Japan are known for having weaker leagues. So if you don't put up seriously inflated numbers you'll never crack the competitive leagues especially if you're American.
