Any talk of ousting Lavin is absurd.  Personally, I was ready to give him a lifetime contract after last season.  A six seed, dropping top 25 foes on a weekly basis, restoring excitemt to the Garden we haven't seen in a decade, and the #2 recruiting class the first year on the job...wow!
How anyone could publicly doubt Lavin's recruiting with his personality and his track record is beyond
me. He will deliver yet again, and after this season he will be able to recruit with his eyes closed as the team's success will do it for him.

I still am ready to give him a lifetime contract. The fact that we may just win 8 BE games with a 6 man rotation is amazing, and shows you just how good the recruits we have are. We are starting 5 Freshman! Just imagine when all these guys are juniors and seniors with a full bench.

I see that every game.  I see a group of juniors or seniors in a segment by CBS at the Final Four chronicling their journey from the Fresh Five to National Champions.

Wow.   It amazes me how our fan base only lives at the extremes.  Either the program is in deep shit or there's a National Championship on the horizon.

Uconn was 7-11 when Hamilton, Freeman, Wane, and Voskuhl were freshmen. That was with Ricky Moore and Rosh Jones as super sophs...with size...with depth.  They needed a pg and got it the next year win El-Amin.

They were just playing a UConn/STJ 1999 game on SNY this afternoon.

If you can't see it then I feel bad for you. I'm not saying we're going to go to the final four. But if you don't see the potential to get there, then I don't know what to tell you. 8 BE wins with 5 Freshman. What are they going to do as juniors and seniors. Call me an optimist all you want, I see myself as a realist, then again so does Lapchick1.
