In the post game press conference, Ed Cooley had his usual spot on quotes. This one caught my attention though:

That was the worst defensive game I ever coached. That will be emphatically addressed tomorrow morning at 6am…I am literally going to put at least three of my players in the hospital in practice this week. I’m not kidding

This is some great stuff from Cooley when he was at Fairfield:

The victory avenged an earlier 75-71 loss by the Gaels at Fairfield, and though Stags coach Ed Cooley gave credit to Iona for their victory, he also went on the offensive, hoping his team sees Iona in the MAAC championship game next Monday night in Bridgeport.

"I thought Iona played really well," said Cooley, whose team had just losses to just Loyola and Rider since the end of November. "We just didn't get the breaks down the stretch. (But) I'd love an opportunity to see these guys again and make sure you write that. Make sure you write that (bleep). I can't wait to get to that point if we're fortunate and the only way we can play them again is for all the marbles in our house and that (bleep) will be sold out. Make sure you print that. I'm looking forward to that opportunity and put that (bleep) in big bold print. We didn't play for 32 minutes. They got our best shot for eight minutes. If that juices them up to play for 40 minutes then let the best man win when all the marbles are on the line. I'm looking forward to it. I just hope we can get to the game. I'm hoping we're fortunate to get to Monday."....

Asked it this victory makes Iona a dangerous opponent in the MAAC tournament, Cooley scoffed.

"I ain't worried about Iona, dog," Cooley said. "I ain't worried about them. I don't have to see them until Monday night. I could give two (bleeps) about Iona. I'll worry about them if we get to that Monday night. Right now Iona is Iona and Fairfield is Fairfield."

I'm pretty sure he didn't say that.

Last night was so much fun that I might have to go to some of these Garden games.  I don't think I can wait till Feb. 20th to see them again.  :)

Maybe he forgot all about the 21 TO's that his team had.  I think that might have had a little to do with the loss.
