Timing is everything as Temple beats Syracuse
« on: December 22, 2012, 02:54:48 PM »
Here we are in a recruiting war with Temple for Rysheed Jordan and Temple beats the Cuse on their home away from home in front of their large city fan base at MSG.  Now if I am Jordan and someone has been filing my ear with the nonsense, or reading such garbage, that St. Johns has a superior program to Temple, and I see our score against UNCA and Temples score today, you know where I'm going.  And for this delusional fans that really believe that Temple is such an inferior program to ours, think again.  Except for a possible year or two over the past decade and a half, Temple has had a far more successful program and didn't have the benefit of a showcase conference like the Big East.  And don't think that Temples statement win over the Cuse does not go a long way in their recruiting either.

I'm sure his decision will be based on a 16 hour window of basketball.

But, when he picks Temple over us, I'm sure all the geniuses will point to last night as the turning point.

Yes, just like Jakarr after witnessing a great win, by Kansas, in one of college BBall's best atmospheres

How about their loss to Canisius?

For SJU fans some of you sure sound like fans of other programs.

Bad loss last night but relax.  The recruiting will be there we need to regroup on the court.

Folks are jumping off the Lavin bandwagon faster than "realfan" on that other board.

Troll is gonna troll.

This.

Bingo.

Here is the thing people need to remember.  SJU cannot do anything about what Temple does.  If SJU had won last night by say 20 it would not have changed what Temple did to SU today.

Let's worry about what SJU can control, January 2nd at Nova.

Linda, sorry, but you are not Rysheed Jordan.  You're not even close to being him.

Troll?  For stating facts and opinions? Why would you say that Chiz? Was merely pointing out that Temple is not as low end a program as some on these sites would have you believe.  Perhaps Rysheed has already made up his mind and I do hope it's in our favor but accept it or not, statement wins like Temple had today do go a long way in recruiting circles.

Don't think so.  From what I read folks are posting reasonable questions, 11 games into a 35 game season, for a team who's roster isn't yet complete.  In a pefect world, where we'd have had Branch/Marco/Orlando from game one, I have no doubt the rotation would be tight right now, play would be much more fluid, roles would be more clearly defined.   But a guy you want playing off guard has been having to concentrate on possibly being the primar Point.   A guy you would prefer as a wing has been concentraing at a PF spot.   Obekpa's been thrown into 25-30 minutes game starting, in stead off the bench supporting Sanchez.

This is a jigsaw puzzle, and pieces have been (and still are) missing.   If it all finally comes together, there's a good chance it's Obekcpa at Center, Sanchez at PF, Jakarr at SF.  Dlo at SG and Jamal at PG.   That's COMPLETELY different from the squad we were able to field the first 10 games.    There's still some growing to do.

But we do have to get to a "fish or cut bait" point with Sanchez very soon.   Maybe we need some big-media mucky-muck to speak up for Orlando's case - the Way Vitale did on Shabazz and Kabongo....because to me what they've done to Sanchez is even more egregiious.   If reports are true the kids done NOTHING wrong, just the NCAA can't get it's act together to verify his information, or refute it.   It's BS.

Temple is a straight ghetto school. You're lucky if you make it through a game w out getting knifed.

Its long overdue...I am sure there are some folks on this thread, even some of mods, who know folks in the media...I sent a note to Zagoria yesterday...but admittedly I am uninformed when it comes to who best to engage

How do we get someone to bring some attention?...
