I get it, the circles right. Our guy Phil hurt'in and u makin fun.

Actually he said he was feeling much better. Could be the Demerol talking of course, that shit is the balls. I'd never make fun if I thought he was really hurting, because, you know, comedy is tragedy plus alcohol and I haven't started drinking yet. Well beer*, but that doesn't count.

Never understood the hate towards geno. He wasn't good. He had the ball so much because we didn't have a better option. He did his best. Phil isn't a pg at this level. Blame the guy who put him in the situation.

Phil has had 2 years worth of starters minutes.   He can't shoot particularly well, and he can't pass very well either.   Those things are not Lavin's fault.

Does anyone know what Phil had surgery for recently?    It's been asked on RM too, but I haven't seen a definitive answer.   I'm assuming his hip...

Anybody know anything more?

I never hated Geno. I didn't enjoy watching him play because he's a very bad player. That's all. Also, senior year, he stopped caring.

Geno and Phil play because they are better then the other options. Not because they are good.
Hopefully Jordan will keep the ball out of Phil's hands. Geno didn't have much help.

Steve only had a couple of recruiting classes and the way it broke he had to get us some players in a hurry. We ended up with holes at the 1 and 4. Ya wanna hold that against him, well thats your call. This year he got us a top guard. Maybe we got a kid who can cover the four for the year he's gonna be here. I'm hoping Steve wants to hang around. I feel over time a lot of good players will pass through. The beauty of that is the fan board doesn't get sick over one player. For instance Harrison. If he wants to play here and by Steve's rules, great. If it looks better to him elsewhere it's like to bad, but no one sweats it big.

Jr you might not want to speak for the rest of the board.  I can guarantee you that if Harrison were to go elsewhere a lot of us would "sweat it big", as you say.    Most of us aren't so flippant about our best player leaving the program.

I don't know why you would say that.  I mean we were only like 6 teams from the bottom of all of D1 in scoring after he was suspended ;)

I think this years team, with or without Harrison, will be better offensively than the team fielded the last six games...

The point of my post was if you have a coach that gets you Bill Self type players you don't sweat the one guy. I'll admit Harrison is a big part of this team, and our ability to win games. I also think there is NBA talent on this team, of which Harrison ain't one. Steve owes it to Harrison's teammates to do whats in there best interest. I'm not saying anything disputing Harrison ain't a great kid. At the same time I would not want any member of the staff on the team I root for to be disrespected.

I have no problem either of these guys (obviously).  I think they were both asked to do too much and too soon.  I think Geno would have been an awesome reserve these last two years.  Sure he had his limitations, but he was tough as freaking nails and he outplayed some very good players one-on-one in his career on some BAD teams. PGs are extensions of the coach...Norm was the worst coach I could have ever imagined.  That doesn't bode well for his PG.

Norm repeatedly made public calls for Geno and Mason to shoot and score more.  Not fair to the kid and not his game.  Greene did a fine job for us with what he was asked to do.  We beat a ranked Cincy team without Branch, beat St. Joe's without Harrison...I don't think we could be anyone decent without Greene.
