San Francisco - Player of the Game

D'angelo gets my vote.   Nothing spectacular, but he was efficient.   Sanchez and Obekpa definitely changed the game around the rim, but for the first 10mins or soUSF was getting easy layups, so I can't give it to the bigs tonight.

Sanchez in my book.  Great game from Harrison as well and a good follow up for Jordan.
Gift could have put up some major stats if given more minutes.  Weak opponent, but we did what we should have done.

Rex Walter is a ticking time bomb.  The way he verbally attacked that Chinese big they had was ridiculous.  No wonder he has such a ridiculous attrition rate.  This could have been a tournament team with Doolin and the UCLA kid that left.

He called a timeout for the sole purpose of destroying the Chinese guy. It was terrible. That actually caused one of the bigger crowd reactions of the night with a smattering of boos.

I'm giving it to Jordan. Loved the way he attacked from the get go. Thought he sorta set the tone in the beginning of the game.

The USF fan in front of me was ripping him pretty good.  This is probably it for him.

The Wussification of America.   I remember CYO coaches that used to do that.

And I'm sorry but I think the kid then threw the ball away on the next play on purpose :)

Jordan for me. Still can't hit a J, but that crossover into the left handed scoop was impressive.

I hear you on that.  It's just that this guy knows he is almost done for this exact thing and on national tv in a game that's already out of hand embarrasses himself?  This is a guy that is rumored to have let Doolin and Derkson slug it out with the rest of the team circled around them.

It was a great team effort tonight, but I went with Jordan because I thought he did a great job leading our offense in the beginning of the game, which was huge.

Jimmy Patsos was real bad when he first started at Loyola 7 or 8 years ago. I remember once he told a kid that he was a waste of 50k in scholarship money loud enough for the whole section behind the bench to hear. Frank Martin gets in his guy's faces all the time but word is guys love playing for him. I guess there's a fine line between tough love and abusive behavior these days

N Delilah was the POG.  Please excuse the Lavinesque hyperbole...but he was Drexler with a touch of Connie Hawkins out there tonight.  A one man dunkathon!

harrison gets my vot - totally under control.  showed great poise at the end of the game when he was run over by an SF player and didn't go after him.  Not sure his reaction would have been the same a year ago.

Great stat line.

Walters had six transfers two years ago.  That is a red flag.

POG for me was Harrison.  The other guys all had good games and worthy of choice, but this team goes only as far as harrison takes them.  They feed off him.  He played very well tonight and not with his 18pts and under contol.

PS.  I will give a Vote to starting second half team for pressing out of the gates that pretty much sealed the deal for the game.  Once we went on that run to open second half, SF was done for.
