Picky points
« on: January 26, 2014, 07:16:41 PM »
1)  Do you guys feel we dive on the floor for loose balls?

2) When key players on our opposition pick up their third and fourth fouls, do we go right at them to force them to sit for awhile?

3)  When our smaller players switch on defense and get caught guarding bigs, do we switch back as quickly as other teams?

4)  When our bigs block shots, do we have decent % of them winding up in our hands?

Other issues?

All good points. Sampson and Pointer seem to block to teammates. Obekpa used to block shots. How long does food poisoning stay in one's body?

Gift blocked a shot right in Young's hands in Chicago. It saved them.

In regards to switching, I think we have lapses at times because 3 guys are plan man, and 2 playing zone.

I don't think we target the other team's top player if they are in some foul trouble. We should. Everyone should.

The biggest pet peeve of mine is the shot selection on some possessions. Too often the team takes shots early in the clock that they can get at anytime. Run the offense and look for a layup or open jumper before chucking up a contested long 2 with 25 on the shot clock

Mine is what seems to be a refusal  -- save Gift at certain times and/or Obekpa -- to crash the offensive boards.  How many times have we seen Sampson or Sanchez take a mid-range or longer jump shot and there be literally no one even attempting to crash the boards.  Whatever guard is on the wing should almost always be crashing (especially if Sheed or D-Lo), and Dom should be required to crash every single possession.  That is what a guy with his athleticism and hustle should strive for.

If anyone should know about poison shouldn't it be you?  :)  Agree CO's play has fallen off lately as has his PT.
