Lavin needs to go to many transfers and ineligible recruits have hurt this team over the years.
Team needs to go in a new direction with a big name coach that can recruit...tired of seeing kids from NY choosing other schools over SJU.
This is New York's big team time to get this team in the tournament on a yearly basis. No excuses.

Bobby Hurley from Buffalo is perfect. NJ guy, asst at Wagner, etc.  The window for him will be this year or next year.  I am sick of this instability and I was never anti-Lavin.

Any "big name" will  be someone like Lavin or Greenberg, a coach who has failed somewhere else.
Gotta find the right guy on the rise.

I completely agree. Hurley is a big name, and we know he has a high IQ for the game. Players will want to learn from him, and I agree, we better grab him soon.

Based upon SJU history, this is the probable outcome of regime change: Monasch resigns, Lavin moves to AD, and Whitesell becomes HC

Major difference is Harrington is gone, and the new President is already more engaged with the University then Harrington was for his 20+ years.

Sorry, I was just responding in general.  Not directly to "Big Name" coach.  He is a respected name, great basketball mind, and will be a "Big Name" coach.  All "Big Name" coaches had to pay their dues, and this is the window to get him.

Tiptoed around the Rysheed question.

Did say they wanted him back, but that doesn't give any clarity in regards to what is going on.
