WE ARE NOSTRADAMUS
« on: February 27, 2015, 09:24:53 PM »
Since I was able to successfully predict that a seldom used 6-4 player would one day be our starting center, I thought I would give a try at predicting our final three games.
Here we go:

Georgetown-Lavin comes out wearing Eddie Murphy's leather suit from RAW. Desco is inconsolable. Buoyed by the emotion surrounding Senior Day we jump out to a big halftime lead 36-25. The lead slowly dwindles away because of missed free throws and Smith fouling out Obekpa, AA and Joey D. SJU falls behind by 6 but storms back behind the quick lineup with Balamou at center. We are tied with 12 seconds left and the ball when Lavin calls for the dog chasing his tail play- an ISO for Greene who dribbles in a circular motion before inexplicably falling down. Half the board cries he was fouled by the invisible man or the Ghost of David Wingate, the other half cry for Greene to be deported. Carmine claims Greene's eyes are dreamy. Carmine is vindicated when Greene knocks down a three to give SJU a 2 point lead with 5 seconds left and Gtown out of TO's. In an unusual show of sportsmanship Lavin calls a TO for them. JT111 designs a play that gets off an uncontested 3 at the buzzer but it falls short. SJU WINS 62-60.  Pointer scores 19 grabs 10 board has 6 dimes, 6 blocks 6 steals and made lunch for his teammates at halftime. After the Game Lavin calls him a LIGER his 37th nickname for Pointer.

Marquette-Lavin comes out in a bowling shirt and Khaki shorts. Desco has to be medicated. Because of his heroics playing center and a great couple of practices, Balamou gets the start at the point. Surprisingly this did not go so well. Felix turns the ball over on his first 7 possessions and we start the game in a 14-0 hole. Twelve Fire Lavin threads pop up and strangely one Iona thread as well. SJU storms back behind Harrison who scores 20 first half points on his way to 36 for the game. SJU takes a 42-37 lead at the half. SJU goes on a 8-0 run to start the 2nd half which naturally concerns Lavin enough to call a TO. Marquette immediately storms back scoring 8 in a row themselves. In a close game throughout SJU finally pulls away because Lavin ran out of timeouts. SJU WINS 86-80. Pointer has 20 points 12 boards 5 blocks 5 assists 4 steals and made everyone brownies. Lavin nicknames him the HOODY FOOTY PAJAMA.

Villanova-Lavin comes out in Fly Guy's pimp suit from I'm gonna git you sucka. Desco's family is forced to institutionalize poor Desco. In what is basically a free game for SJU, there is some unwanted drama. After an unforced to, Jordan is pulled and is clearly agitated. Lavin keeps him out for the rest of the half in a close game. The sideline reporter at the half informs us that Jordan is doubtful with a bruised spleen. This report immediately looks somewhat shady when Jordan starts the 2nd half sitting on the Nova bench. Baldi reports that his sources have told him that yes Iona is a real school and not a made up one like Dillon High." Clear eyes, full hearts can't lose." Despite no Jordan the game is close throughout. SJU is up 2 with 2 and a half to play when after a scrum under the basket, Obekpa takes the T shirt cannon and shoots Arcidiacono in the face. After the ensuing techs Nova pulls away for the win. Greene is spectacular in the lose scoring 28. Carmine proposes immediately after the game. Pointer scores 18, with 8 boards 8 blocks 4 assists 4 steals and dances with the dance team at half time. Sterling Gibbs apologizes for Obekpa. In the post game Lavin claims everything is fine with Jordan he just had a sore throat and will start in the BET. He also nicknames Pointer THE VERMONT TEDDY BEAR.

So everyone can relax as even though Obekpa will be suspended for the first game of the BET, we go into it 21-10 and an NCAA tourney bid locked up.
Enjoy the game.
