As far as Durand goes, a lot posters seem to be down on him. A lot of times when a guy has a subpar game, it's because of what the other team is doing.  They were keying on him.  Now he shouldn't have been dribbling so much, but still, they were keying on him. Another point: If you think about it, Rutgers prepared for Ellison and Williams, and got Balamou instead.  Vandy's going to have a scouting report on Felix now, and they're a good team with a smart coach, so it's going to get a  little tougher.

It's gonna be a "little tougher" because Vandy is a good team.  But, I'm sure Stallings will key on Johnson, Mussini, and Sima.  They'll probably take their chances with Balamou, as most teams will do this season.

Agree with Marillac's opinion re: too early to grade Mullin. Somewhat related, I spoke with Felix at the  Pediatric Cancer Walk for a bit. He commented that the practices and related activities were highly structured, efficient and purposeful. He was in no way comparing regimes btw.

Another anecdotal observation is that I had a chance to watch the team on two occasions doing drills prior to a game. I was impressed by their organization & "crispness".  That to me was in contrast to what I observed with last year's pre game drills. In the general scheme of things, obviously you can't draw conclusions from that sample, but it was impressive. Btw, St. Jean appears to really be intense, a stickler for details & a proponent of eliminating wasted motion.

I've noticed that on television.  Looks like he's really in-tuned.

I give Mullin an A for the staff he assembled. All very hard working , dedicated . And competent.

Don't think they will "key" on Balamou, but they will  have a scouting report on us with Balamou in the game.  They'll have a scouting report on him, and it will definitely make it tougher. For example, when he posted up against Rutgers. They'll be ready for that. They won't key on him, in general, though.  Rutgers was at a loss because they had no idea what to expect, and he really impacted the game.  If he can impact the game like that against Vandy, I'll say we really have something there.

As far as next year goes, think about how good their offense will function.  They will have Lovett who seems to have eyes all around his head.  Excellent passer with excellent vision.  Then there is Sima who has the ability to pick out his teammates while he is under duress.  It's a lot harder then it looks.  Most bigs can only pass to the guy who gave it to them.  With those two elements in place, the offense will flourish.  Are you out there Rawle?  With Freudenberg shooting from one side (MAYBE A STRETCH FOUR) and Ponds/Mussini shooting from one wing, Alkins would do a lot of damage on the other wing. Or Ahmed.  We could be really good next year.
