I saw that earlier today. Congrats to Amir and good luck this season. Hopefully he makes it to the bigs.
Steven Matz #15. Pretty low for a 24-year old that dominated a very hitter-friendly PCL in AAA with a 7-4 record and 2.19 ERA in 15 games (and era of ZERO in AA in two games), was 4-0 with a 2.27 ERA in six starts in the MLB regular season (separated by a long stint on DL) and pitched extremely well in the NLDS, NLCS, and World Series. And he hits like a shortstop. The kid ranked #14 is a 23-year old lefty that pitched only 44 innings in AAA last year, albeit with a 1.81 ERA. Who knows how his stuff will fair in the majors or if he will have the guts to pitch well in the playoffs.
I know Matz had a relatively small sample size, but the fact that he did it before and after his time on the DL, and the fact that he looked like a veteran in the playoffs takes way a lot of doubt that plague the rest of the pitchers on this list. Jesus, Kershaw didn't even prove he could pitch well in the playoffs until this year.
