Maybe he was attacked in the showers?

I'm not as sure as everyone on this board that Obekpa's hiring an agent is a bad move.  This is a very weak draft this year, and you have to admit that Obekpa's shot-blocking ability, his timing and ability to alter shots, would be transferable to the next level.

Yes, he spent only one day at Athlete's Institute, but maybe he was told by someone with connections to hire an agent, that he was in some team's plans.

In terms of his character, work ethic, history of suspensions, and tendency to quit, he wouldn't be the first player with any or all of those traits to be drafted.  In a weak draft, teams look for physical attributes and potential.

6'8 shot blockers that can't defend the three or five are worthless in the NBA if they can't score. There are guys his size with guard skills. At this point, he's too old to reasonably expect him to development in even a slightly below average offensive player in the NBA.

Yakwe has a better chance IMO--although still not a great one. He's younger, exponentially more athletic, and has the physical ability to cover the three and four.

Definitely possible, but if both Beard and Menzies told him to get lost then he either wasn't going to class or messing around with drugs again. If that's the case he should have bolted midseason when they fired Rice
