I thought there was already a thread for Quinones.

Per Rivals....

Interest: Offers from Seton Hall, St. John's, Illinois, Georgetown, UMass, Minnesota, Western Kentucky and others.

Why his stock could take off: During the winter months, Quinones looked like as good a jump shooter as there is in the junior class. He has tremendous range, a quick release and plays with a world of confidence.

Lester Quinones, SG/SF, New Heights – One of the premier shooters in the class, Quinones had a very good game in the weekend finale. Quinones got open and knocked in shots when he had clean looks, and then also was solid off the dribble. While not the most athletically gifted prospect, he did give maximum effort on defense, and was solid on that end of the court as well.

Lestor reminds me of Jordan Tucker. I'm not a huge Jordan Tucker fan.

What specifically don't you like about his game Dave?  It's tough for me to judge potential holes in a kids game when all I'm watching is YouTube highlight videos. I just get excited anytime this staff actually gets mentioned with a top 100 recruit.

He has good size and frame. Good shooter but a slow release. At his size a 3 point shooter is valuable because there aren't many. Doesn't really strike me as a worker and is a little more pretty boy than blue collar. Wish he gave more effort on the floor and more consistency. Has good potential but I wouldn't feel extremely confident laying a bet on him.

All in all I would still take him at St. John's especially as early commit. Think there is a lot to work with.

Thanks for the breakdown Dave.  I agree with your opinion that I'd rather have a highly rated kid who's a gym rat then a highly rated kid who's not as hard of a worker...  At this point though I'll take any highly rated kid willing to jump on board.

Close to home, St. John’s is working to keep the best players from leaving the area. The Red Storm have made it clear to Quinones that they want him to play his home games in the world’s most famous arena.

“They’ve just been trying to say how me and Precious (Achiwua), if we came there we could be great,” explained Quinones. “They want to get both of us, and keep us home to play at Madison Square Garden.”

So none of those other teams have anyone as good as or better than Eli W? Find that hard to believe. I like Eli but he did avg what 3-4 as a soph?

I don't think Eli and Lestor went hand in hand.

I like Lestor's potential and coaching staff was intrigued by him as they should. A shooter with size but don't know if there was ever real mutual interest.

Lestor is very into Lestor so I can see him playing this process out. I'd take an early guess of LSU.

Interesting no Big East schools on his list.  Maybe we never had a shot at him.

Could see him taking a similar path as Jordan Tucker. Chasing big name schools and transferring after things aren't what they seem.

I remember that you weren't so high on Tucker in high school. What do you think of him now?
