Simon has provided stability to this program.  I’m very happy with his gMe which is still evolving.

He’s a work in progress who had a handful of great games. By the time he’s a senior, he could be a really valuable part of a very good team - if Shamorie Ponds is still here.

Would like to see him cut down on the TOs, a lot of his shooting is feel. The one handed teardrop in the paint, the outside jumper, lack the classic mechanics of shooting. But, when he's hot, there is little the defender can do to stop him. Mr. Double-Double. Just missed a triple double too.

12 points, 7 rebounds, five assists, three steals, 47 percent from the floor, 40 percent from three and nine double doubles in his first year in a SJ uniform. In two years he could be valuable.

You're a buffoon.

Who's "we" stupid? When "we" beat dook and Villanova in back to back games you were no where to be found. Now you can't shut up about not getting an NIT bid.

Anyway, your non sequitur is noted. Six months ago you were soiling your diapers about a walk on transferring to a D2 school, today you're soiling your diapers about a double double machine maybe being a valuable piece in a couple of years. The constant is your diapers, which are full of shit, as are you,

He’s a great role player. An elite athlete who doesn’t run out of gas. His jump shot is not D1. It’s not even D3. Until he develops one, he’s liability against the zone. It’s his first season getting regular playing time. Let’s see what he’s worked on next November.

Skills wise he is ahead of dom pointer. His shortcomings wouldn’t be such a problem if he wasn’t forced to play so out of position. Providence shouldn’t have been close. We never should have beaten butler. Those teams should have hounded and pressured Simon the entire game.
Not their usual game plan but it would have worked. At the very least he would have been exhausted.

Yeah I think you nailed it regarding both Butler and Providence's game plan against Simon. It most likely would have rendered him much more ineffective. Using him as a wing is ideal for this club. I want to see him drive to the hoop more in halfcourt sets though and use that athletic mismatch. He needs to clean up his finishes around the rim as he makes the most basic shot look very difficult. This is where he can really hurt teams and draw a lot of fouls.

Are you saying we overachieved given the injuries/roster shortcomings?

I am saying Simon is not a PG. He makes plenty of mistakes playing there. Don’t think he should be blamed for them. Also it would be tough anyone playing PG without another guard and with out any post players.
I don’t think we overachieved. I think we have good players and they played hard and competed. I think if providence and butler pressured all game it would have looked like an nfl game with one team playing with a 3rd string Qb.
Lovett leaving hurt. He had not been REPLACED.

I think it says something that Simon put up those stats and didn't get even get voted honorable mention. Every coach in the conference wants Simon playing guard next season instead of the four so they don't have to worry about guys like Tyler Wideman defending him on the perimeter.

We need a point guard for next season. I don't think Dixon and Ponds are enough. I want Ponds to be able to play completely off the ball for stretches.
