A Few Questions about our recruits
« on: January 05, 2009, 10:01:46 PM »
1st. What kind of player is Omari?(I know there is 17 pages on him) Is he more of a 2 or a 3? Will he start right away? Does he play the same position as Paris, Mase, or DJ? Who is going to lose minutes?
2nd Hardy- Not a point guard? CAn it be possible that if Norm comes back we wouldn't have a back up point guard in 5 out 6 of the years he is here? Is he better then the guys we have? I know he is supposed to be a shooter but doesn't he play the same position as Paris and Quincy? Why would we offer a JUCO that would be in the same class with 60% of our team?
3rd Lance- I saw him play 1 half and he looked great but doesn't he play the same position as Paris, Quincy, Omari, DJ? Unless he is a point guard? How could we offer him without an available scholarship?Would  Mason play the 4?I think he would be a great 6th man but I don't see that happening?
4th- I predict if we go .500 this year Norm will be back. If he comes back next year he is going to be here for a while. The players next year are going to the best he has had. The year after that we are going to have 9 seniors.

Mase and DJ are both straight three's.  Omari could play either SG or SF.  He creates his shot well and is very creative both getting to the lane and finishing in the lane.  I expect him to shoot around 34% from three next year as well.

I think he'll be our best player at taking it to the rack, and I think he'll come off the bench for at least the first 2/3's of the year.

It'll be interesting to see who starts at the two next year.  Mase is our best player, but coach loves DJ.  I think we'll see Boothe-DJ-Mase-JB-Evans with Horne and Lawrence giving early minutes at the two and three spots.
