The coaching fraternity is a small circle, and by now people most definitely know who Tim Cluess is and what he can do and has done. Yes, becoming an assistant coach at a high-major school would help to sculpt him and give him a bit more credibility, the fact is that an assistant coaching position at St. John's isn't exactly a secure job at the moment.
If you a young coach, yeah its a good move. But if you got a fams and evrybody depend on you and you got a secure job, why would y'all go to a place where the coach is on the hot seat?
