although i think the nba should be open to any age, i really wish kids had to stay for four years in college...its to the point now where we only get to enjoy a kid for one good year, then when his stock is high, bam, hes gone...would have been nice to watch a guy like rose, durant, etc, for 4 years in college, bc seeing them in the nba doesnt do it for me, bc the nba in general doesnt do it for me...i feel bad for the coaches too, who spend so much time recruiting a player or players, just to see them leave after a year or two...syracuse would have been a legit final 4 team next year but now who knows...can u imagine how much easier college coaches would have it if kids had to stay for all four years...wouldnt be bad for the kids either...making them get a college degree before moving on, since 99% of them wont make a living in basketball anyway...and since most, without basketball wouldn't be able to get into the school they're playing for...do you ever think a guy like ewing sr or iverson sits back and says, wow, i couldnt read in college, yet i have a degree from a top tier academic institution...i read on zags today about how wall wouldnt go to the nba bc he promised his father before he died he'd go to college and he wants to honor that promise...but if hes not staying 4 years for a degree does it really matter...i dont think his father wanted him to get one year of education...i would imagine he wanted his son to get a degree...its sad, and as im saying this, yea i think the nba is a job, like any other, and a kid should be able to get that job if hes qualified and the "business" wants him, but its still sad, when you see a kid use school as nothing but a medium to play a game

If you are old enough to serve the country in military service you should be allowed to pursue any career you choose once you turn 18 years old.

It should be up to the company that hires you, though.  You can't just be a lawyer or doctor at 18.  There are several careers that you have to be a certain age for.  You have to be 35 to run for president and 30 or more to run for state senator in many states.

Pretty much every other sport has teenagers at the Pro level. Tennis, golf, soccer, baseball. Kids have to surround themselves with good people rather than skells looking to make a buck off them

Tennis has a certain peak level and that is usually between 16-25.  You really don't see baseball kids make it until they are about 20-21 on a regular basis.  I think it should be up to the sport.  Both college and the NBA have benefitted from the age limit IMO.

The NFL has had an age limit in place for some time and nobody ever complains about it.

I cant argue with that, I would have loved to see kids like Lebron and kobe playing the college game.

If you can get thru grammar & high school and then college and medical/law school before you are 18 you can certainly be a doctor or lawyer...

I knew that was coming.  If it is helping the NBA, college, and the players why not keep it as is?  Don't you feel the league should decide?

If the NBA had a better developmental league like the minors for MLB and NHL, this wouldn't be an issue.

apparently he is dead set on not returning, and is currently looking for an agent...prob the right choice, bc with the exception of going deep in the tournament again, his stock cant possibly get higher than it is now
