Now, wait... does this mean St. John's is not doing the Holiday Festival?  I wonder.

I think they'll do both but what it probably means is they'll need to get someone other than Virginia Tech to be the second BCS team.   ;)

Based upon update from Maven on BEB final field for Holiday Fest will be SJU v Hofstra and Cornell v Davidson.

So no second BCS team but a good local rival many have been clamoring for and a couple of mid major teams that made the dance last year.

Again, why cant they take 4 local teams for the Holiday Fest? St Johns,Hofstra,Fordham and either Iona or Manhattan

Maybe because all of those teams don't deserve to be there.

No offense, but how does a win against Iona help us in any way?
Or Fordham? Fordham isn't even trying to win.

At least in the Philly Classic, there are good teams. Siena, Va Tech and Temple are all better than us. You don't get better by beating up on weak sisters.

It wasnt too long ago when Iona beat North Carolina and Manhattan beat St Johns to advance to the finals at Madison Square Garden. Carolina/St Johns would play the early game the next night

That's true. But like I said playing Iona or Manhattan won't help us in any way.
If we lose, it's shameful. If we win, who cares? We should win. And big.
