I pay my respect and honor everyone that was touched by 9/11.

However I don't think we should just shut down today and mourn. I feel we should rise up and do good. Go out and perform a random act of kindness today and let the terrorists know you can't keep us down.

"This nation is peaceful but fierce when stirred to anger. This conflict was begun on the timing and terms of others but will end in a way and at an hour of our military's choosing. They have attacked America because we are freedoms home. T...hose who choose to make the foolish act of war against the United States and take innocent lives have chosen there own destruction" -G.Bush Never forget 9/11

Saw this quote  on my friends facebook page, he lost his twin brother that day.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know some posters lost loved ones that day  and I cant imagine how they feel about this subject. My brother was 1 of the lucky ones, he happenned to be off that day but all the guys on duty at his firehouse were murdered by some sick people. My brother is a shell of his former self, emotionally and definitely physically and will have to retire shortly due to health problems from his time spent at Ground Zero. This subject will always leave a bitter taste in my mouth and I dont think I'l ever be satisfied with the United States answer to this disgusting act of terrorism.

Dave, in general I agree with you, but everyone grieves/honors/mourns differently.  I think this is a very personal day and HOWEVER people want to approach it is great, as long as it is right for THEM.  I don't think we should be suggesting how people should approach this very personal, sensitive day.

Well this is America...they do have the freedom of choice.  ;) I went to church this morning in honor of the day. I'm going to a baseball game (weather permitting) later on in the day. I remember and hold it close to my heart but I feel stronger and more united because of that day. I remember when everyone was rocking an American flag outside of their house, car, bike, clothes. It was truly moving.

I worked next door in the Deutsche Bank building at the time. I went into work late that day. After 9/11 I look at life a lot differently. The little things in life don't bother me any more. I was given the opportunity to move forward and I am trying to take advantage of the time i have on this earth. I try and celebrate life very day but today is a sad day for me.
