RE: quincy's playing time...the kid standing next to me in the student section is friends with DJ, and he told me DJ told him quincy has an injury...not sure who reads these boards or if I should get any more in depth than that, but that's why hes not getting playing time right now....I also just met the kid today, and i don't think he would lie about it, but i guess you could also take this with a grain of salt...

i dont understand playing stith and lawrence over quincy. i like hardy when he was playing the point because he is aggressive. booth is solid and stith looks a little scared still. lawrence shows potential but i dont understand playing him over quincy ever.

i liked how we went to a high pick as the plays broke down, but everytime it was pick and pop--we need jb rolling to the basket and scoring or passing in the paint not him with the ball at the top of the key with 5 on the shotclock. also put paris or dj on the ball for those late shot clock moves and kick shooters to the corners.

Think he took another shot to the head in Philly and they keep him out of the game precautionary after concussion in Canada.

It was definately a good game, would love to see Roberts get some time and it would also be cool to leave the 1-6 players in more and not go into a 4 to 5 guard rotation every game, shooting better on the line would also be great, that the only reason they even came within 15 at the end

Unless this injury is new since the weekend but I received word on Saturday that he was 100% healthy. Honestly I think it just boils down to the fact that Omari and Hardy are playing better than him right now. I think Norm feels more comfortable with Stith handling the rock in relief of Boothe too. He is the odd man out much like Omari might be odd man out when Mason returns. There will come a time for all of them to play. Just have to be ready when your number is called.

i like omari but quincy is a much better shooter and defender. omari will get mins in his stay at stj but i'm not convinced this is the year he should.

Great games from Brownlee and Evans. Both were all over the boards and loose balls, Brownlee always seems to be in the right spot at the right time

Just watched the game. DJ game has evolved. He takes it to the hoop with authority and he is stroking from outside. I love Brownlee game! Smooth, confident and always working hard. Defense was solid. Offense still needs work but guys are not standing around watching, they were moving cutting to the basket. Looking forward to seeing these guy gell.

Our defence was good last.
Our offence still needs work. I think it does hurt us that we do not have a PG that can breakdown the defence and score in the lane. Boothe did it a couple of time last night but did not finish. In the beginning of the game I thought we settled on to many 3's. 3's can sometimes be fools gold.

It was great to see that we have so many options. Brownlee and Hardy are such a great additions to this team.

i agree but i like the point forward job by dj. he creates going into the pain off the dribble or pass. he will score, draw the foul, and even dish/kick once he gets a step inside the arch. booth just has to keep the tempo up/break the press and hit open shots.

hmm I wonder if they might try and use the concussion excuse with Quincy to try and redshirt him.  It'd be an easy way into it and I'm sure the NCAA won't put up a stink because it's a head injury.  When Mase comes back there is really no playing time for this kid.

Agreed with Poison.  I've wanted them to redshirt Q for a long time now, but that would also mean no scholarships for 2012.  Yes, a far way off, but a good staff has to spread out the schollies so years like, well, our year in 2011 won't happen.  9 newcomers?  Good grief.

Or they could redshirt him and bring 7 or 8 players in in 2011 and save a ship or two for 2012.

The defense was outstanding and the offense was sloppy. Some good runs, and some completely careless possessions. Kind of par for the course for a Norm Roberts coached team. But I do think this defense is quite a bit better than past years.

Talent and results-wise so far, this team should be able to hang with Duke. But I think it's more a mental thing than anything else. This team has to prove that they can go to Cameron Indoor, get punched in the face (like they will at some point), and withstand the run and stay in the game. As we all know, recent teams have fallen apart at the slightest hint of adversity against elite teams.

IMO, it's impossible to predict what's going to happen on Saturday. I do think we're going to find out a lot about whether or not this team will be able to legitimately compete in the Big East this year.
