St. John's fans may have thought they were seeing double on Sunday afternoon. Not only did the St. John's men's and women's teams each post double-digit victories over a pair of Ram-nicknamed teams from the Atlantic 10 Conference at Carnesecca Arena, to move to 8-1 and 9-1, respectively, but juniors Justin Brownlee and D.J. Kennedy each posted matching points-rebounds double-doubles as the Red Storm cruised to a 73-56 victory over crosstown rival Fordham.
Brownlee scored a career-high 14 points with a career-best 14 rebounds (five offensive) and blocked a career-best three shots while Kennedy poured in 13 points with 13 boards (six offensive) to go along with two assists and two rejections of his own. The duo, along with junior guard Paris Horne - who also reached double-figures with 14 points - lifted the Red Storm over the 70-point barrier for the fourth time this season and helped St. John's to a 21-12 advantage on the offensive glass.
