I was a little surprised to see that Justin is still not putting any weight on his right ankle.

I would really like to see these guys back for the Bryant game.

if mase is 80% ready, norm should look to start playing him this weekend.  he has to log-in minutes now versus experimenting with him during the BE.  mase will be an important part of this team and we  need to get him ready.

I agree with trying to get him back for OOC games to prep for conference but I don't think they'll do that. They want him 100%

Looks like Mase will be out at least another 3 weeks. Do we really want him coming back right in the middle of the BE schedule?

i dont understand this injury....i completely believe the conspiracy theory that was featured on jj in the preseason.

mase talks like he is the heart and soul of the team, but sophomores like me have barely seen the guy play. this team has grown without and despite him, and i dont see his place on it anymore.

if he is going to have any legacy at all at stj he has a ton of work to do in the few games he will be dressed. i hope he proves me wrong, but i would rather he had not been redshirted and we got a freshman forward this year.

What are you talking about?  Mase talks about beng the heart and soul?  The kid is quiet and reserved.

Also, for his legacy, the kid was the best player during a time when we had zero talent, depth, and coaching.  He was honorable mention All-Big East and scored 29 back to back games defeating ranked opponents.

Where does all of this animosity directed towards Mase come from?  Let him play one damn game with the new crew before you destory his legacy.

Sorry you haven't personally have gotten to see Mase in action but we need him. We're better with him than without him. He single handedly won us some games in his career.

Also Mase has been a great representative of the University and in no way should anyone turn their back on him. I feel so badly for Mase and wish him the speediest of recoveries.

i have seen the guy hanging around campus twice, and both times with cameras on him, unlike coker, horne, dj, quincy boothe ect who are part of the st. john's community here on and around campus. i feel bad for him that he has been crippled with injuries, but he is anything but quiet and reserved.  we are talking about a guy who uses his free education to pursue a backup career to his pro basketball in film study.  nba or just to be safe, hollywood.

i obviously want what means winning this year, but i dont see a spot for him in the already irrational and bloated rotation.  I hope he proves me wrong, but im tired of holding my breath for our savior to come.

Our savior, Felipe Lopez, couldn't save us.

What would make anyone think Mason could?
He's a good player. Not s great player.

Seriously, people.

Seriously.

The rotation is large but so far hasn't been Michigan State.  The team's not trotting out truckloads of scoring or defense.  The team has 2 starting guards who are trying to find their games.  An injured starting forward who is also trying to find his game.  When the Big East opponents come around, St. John's is going to need a second player who we know can score/ get his shots off.  We don't have that.  Someone's going to shut down DJ Kennedy for stretches.

You have to have weapons.  DJ cannot carry the team all season.  Mase doesn't need to be savior for once.  He doesn't need to be great, he needs to be good.  And if a decent player needs to log some DNPs, so be it.  Imagine having 3-4 scorers on the court, each a threat?  My gosh, the Red Storm would look like a Good College Team.

I do think that without Mase - and without some better performances from the rest of the roster - we will see some blowouts.
