Congrats to Mason for coming back from injury today.  Good for him.

Mason played GREAT!  He was unselfish, he made that extra pass, looked for his teammates, and was even boxing out down low.

It is obvious, as many of us have thought, that with more talent Anthony Mason plays differently.  He's a great team player and can do just about anything on the court.  I really hope and believe, once he's fully healthy, Mason should be getting 30 mins a game.  Congrats Mase!

Played great?  His defense was atrocious.  He was okay at best.

What do you expect out of him in game 1?  He was great for not playing in over a year.  He posted upo, he passed pretty well, he let the game come to him.  Anyone who knows basketball could tell he is getting there.  This should be a game against St. Bonnie's or the like, instead its Louisville game 1 back.  Give me a break,

I have defended Mase more than just about anyone, but I will call it as I see it.  His defense was absolutely horrible.  It's his first game back and he should get better, but I cannot even begin to think about him playing great today.

If you mean in terms of not being a ball-hog, then maybe.  I never thought he was anyway.  He's got a long way to go, but this season is O-V-E-R for us already and next year will be over if Norm is not canned in March.

I love Mase, but he looked horrible on d.  Offensively he deferred to others.

Season is over anyway.  I'd rather see Omari get minutes so we can squeeze out ten wins instead of eight in two years.

Many people on here did think he was a ball hog.  You're being way too harsh on a guy who hasnt played a real game in 13+ months.  He shook the rust in and looked VERY good the last few mins.  We need more Mase.

Don't confuse my posts for being anti-Mase.  The kid needs to get 30 mins. He's one of my favorite all-time Johnnies, I just really feel for him with all the injuries and especially playing with the crap talent and even crappier coach for his time here.  He would have been amazing on the teams 10-12 years ago.

Then again, we cannot have him weave himself into the fabric of this team once again just to leave us looking for answers again next season.

Id agree with you if this was February and we had no shot.  Whle starting 0-3, both you and I know we essentially have a shot, there are still 15 BE games and the BET left to get us to the dance.  If Mase, our star senior, is healthy, he deserves to play.  There's enough season left.

The defense all around is terrible. Mason is rusty. Free pass. We'll need him to beat the likes of South Florida. That will be our signature win of the year.

Actually, our signature win will be Nova.

Cheers to Mason for making it back after his long road of recovery! My hat goes off to him.  It took him a while to get going but by the end of the game he was looking solid.  What do you expect after being off for so long?  His game awareness and rhythm were off at first but I was surprised at how quickly he brought things together.  I was excited to see him on the court and like having 2 wings now that are a scoring threat.  Everybody played terrible D, including Mason.

What was the story with Burell riding the bench all game?  None of our bigs played particularly well, not sure why Norm kept Brownlee and Evans in the entire game.  I would have liked to see more minutes from Coker as we needed more rebounds and inside defense.  Failure to rebound continues to kill us. Also, Stith and Omari should get 0 minutes, none.  They simply aren't ready. The Malik system is a failure.  Hardy should take point. I love Booth's heart and soul, but it hurts us not having a point guard that is a scoring threat.

Mason played well...first game back was patient and hit some shots.  He will help us the rest of the way.

Nice to see Mase back and hopefully he will help us win some games.
