Right now, more than ever, St. John's needs D.J. Kennedy to be the D.J. Kennedy it always banks on. That's the one that leads the team in scoring, rebounding and assists. The one with the nickname "big play."
The questions is whether or not the real Kennedy will show Saturday for Big East showdown with South Florida (16-9, 6-7) in the SunDome at noon. The 6-5 junior swingman has been erratic of late and played poorly in Wednesday night's tough loss to Seton Hall at Carnesecca Arena.
Kennedy went 1-for-10 from the floor in the loss and finished with two points, seven rebounds and one assist. He called it "one of the worst games I've ever had in my life."
