Pitino,Donovan and Mark Jackson arent coming. This I know

because?  i don't disagree necessarily.  but why so convinced?

Why would you need a search committee to hire Pitino or Donovan? Those are no brainers. Jackson has never coached and you cant put him up against the Hall of Fame coaches in the Big East.  Thats all I'll say

I agree about Jackson.   As far as the search committee goes.  The guys that are rumored to be on it,  have the bank roll.  If Rutledge, Louie, and Mahoney are on search committee, then we have problems.  $$$  guys on search committee, is a different ballgame.

Zags reporting today that Pitino says he has absolutely no interest in the Nets job. "He is finished with coaching in the pros". Our chances are still real slim, but if the $$$ are there maybe he wants to come back NYC ? Within a year or two SJU would be playing all 9 of its Big East games at the Garden. Louisville is opening a new state of the art arena next year but who knows, other than $$$, what his priorities are. Hope at least we go after him with a serious offer.

“He’s the Nets’ first choice,” said an NBA source with knowledge of the organization’s thinking. “It comes down to if he wants to leave Duke and his comfortable setting and take on a new challenge.”

The Nets could also offer Krzyzewski the title of general manager. Both the coach and general manager posts, currently held by Kiki Vandeweghe, are expected to be available after the season.
