Big game by Mitchell, 22 pts and 7 boards.  The frosh from upstate, Dane Miller, looks good for Rutgers.

Rutgers has Depaul and Seton Hall twice after this.  They could add a few wins and if we end up tied, they have the tie-breaker.

They've just won 4/5 and have Depaul next.

I have been rooting for the teams that we can't catch to beat the teams right in front of us and the teams trying to catch us.  I hate Cuse but Louisville winning today may have hurt us.  We'll see how it plays out.

It definitely helps I think. Brings more parity to the league and we were very strong out of conference which gives more credibility to the conference as a whole for selection.

We are 2 games out of being in the top half of the league (SHU and USF we win those and we're in 8th place). Its very frustrating bc we could be sitting way better.

If we beat Gtown, PC, RU (I think we could have also beat Louisville and Pitt) we'd be top 20 in the country instead we're talking about firing our coach. Thats the most frustrating thing for me is we could and should be there but we're not.

Dave, don't forget we were up 16 on West Virginia in the 2nd Half!!  Or up about 10 on Nova!  Both at home too.  This team isn't short on talent and could arguably play with any team in the conference.  We wins these next 2 and we can get excited again but I am going to anticipate the worst.

The problem is parity only helps if we finish in the top 8.  Anything less, and we are out of any consideration.  If by some miracle we were to finish 8th, then we would have a shot at a bid.  It would mean wins against some good teams.  Unfortunately, I thing the Rutgers loss makes that nearly impossible.  I agree that we could have won some of the games that we were not expected to win.  The second half meltdowns are very frustrating.  G'town and Pitt were definitely winnable. I really believed that we matched up well with Nova.  Providence and Rutgers are inexcusable.

Coming up, SH, Pitt and Marquette at home are games that we desperately have to win.  We should be able to win at South Florida.  Maybe a stomach virus hits Cuse right before we play them.  Who knows...
