If you did 96 teams, AND if you guaranteed a spot for both the conference tourney winner ANSD the regular season winner....do reg season champs in mid major conferences not try as hard or rrest their starters since it doesnt matter, pretty much guaranteeing the conference 2 bids?

the tournaments fine the way it is...teams who have a good body of work from the whole season get in (with some exceptions every year, obviously someone needs to be the first 1 or 2 out), and the teams who were never in the discussion but play great down the stretch get a shot in their conference tourny...different commentators say it every year, you are in control of your own destiny...virginia tech and seton hall, and all other teams that bitch and moan, you should have won more games...or manned up in the conference tournament...the system isnt perfect, and the committees mess up sometimes, but most of the time you cant complain...and if every year youre only arguing with the committee against the last 4 in and the last 4 out, then they are doing a good enough job...those teams you are arguing about have no chance to win the title anyway, so while it would be great for their program to make it, it doesnt affect the integrity of the tournament
