All time Big East players

SNY had their all time top 10 last night. IMO their list was flawed. Not a surprise since Len Robbins, Brandon Tierney and Vharles Smith were involved. Anyway here is my top 5:
1.Ewing
2.Mullin
3.Berry
4.Pearl Washington
5.D Coleman

This is always such a tough debate.

Those were 5 great BE players. I have to agree.
I think the only sensible debate is to name the 2nd team.

2nd team:
Mourning
Rip
Allen
Carmelo
Iverson

agree with your top 3.  Derrick Coleman is in the top five,  maybe a Ray Allen squeaks in .  I don't count Berry. Although great, only played 2 years in BE. 3 years should be min. to be all time great.

Ray Allen barely played as a freshman, and he was nowhere near as Berry.

Point taken,  FWIW  Ray Allen played 22 min a game and averaged 13 ppg his freshmen year.  But he's probably not in top five. I just can't include guys that played 1 or 2 seasons in a top 5 all-time great discussion. Berry was great though, no doubt.

I hear ya, but if you look at a guy like Carmelo Anthony who had one of the greatest NCAA Tournaments ever, he didn't need more than one year.

No doubt about Carmelo. I just can't put him with Mullin and Ewing and Pearl.  I like Sherman Douglas more for his imprint on the Big East.  Sherm was nasty.   Maybe i'm giving too much credence to the 80's.

If someone put a gun to me head and asked me who was the best SJU player I ever saw my answer would be Walter Berry over Mullin.
