Didnt I read somewhere that he was ACC coach of the year twice or something like that.
So in a conference with K,Roy,Gary Williams etc he was coach of the year almost 30% of the time.
That says something also I think
That ACC award is a joke. The key is having a coach willing to drive down media expectations.
It is an award heavily dependent upon exceeding preseason media expectations. Last year, UNC dominated the league and went on to win the title. The media gave the award to the legendary Leonard Hamilton. They gave another lightweight Dave Leitao the award in 2007 two years before he "resigned" at UVA.
