Great Alaska Shootout schedule released

Saw this on Redmen..

Start out with Ball State.  Hopefully Arizona State in the Finals or else this tourney will do some serious damage to the RPI.


ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) � Arizona State and St. John's will be on the basketball court for the 2010 Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout.  Steve Cobb, athletic director for tournament host Alaska-Anchorage, says the Thanksgiving week field also will include Ball State, Drake, Houston Baptist, Southern Utah and Weber State.  The tournament is scheduled for Nov. 24-27.

Mens Schedule
Wednesday, Nov. 24 � First Round
7:30 pm � Southern Utah vs Drake
9:45 pm � Ball State vs St. John�s

Thursday, Nov. 25 � First Round
5 pm � Houston Baptist vs Arizona State
7:30 pm � Weber State vs Alaska Anchorage

Friday, Nov. 26 � Consolation Semifinals & Semifinals
Noon � SUU/Drake loser vs BSU/SJU loser
2 pm � HBU/ASU loser vs WSU/UAA loser
5:30 pm � SUU/Drake winner vs BSU/SJU winner
8 pm � HBU/ASU winner vs WSU/UAA winner

Saturday, Nov. 27
Noon � 7th/8th-place game
2 pm � 4th/6th-place game
5:30 pm � 3rd/5th-place game
8 pm � Championship game

I believe a handful of the games are televised on the FOXSports affiliates.  I recall zooming by those channels and seeing a handful of Great Alaska Shootout games being televised the last few years.

Thats a weak field but if we beat ASU it would make it worth it because that is a quality neutral court win. A win against ASU would be good for our resume and we play in best basketball conference in the country and if the team gets the job done our SOS will not be a problem because we play a lot of good BE teams along with Duke, UCLA, etc.

i heard the contract is till 2014 so yes i think they are playing duke at the garden this season.

Our Sr. Have taken some nice trips in their 4 year. Hawaii, Canada and now Alaska.
