Doesn't surprise me at all, because they are probably telling him that he isn't allowed to dribble!  I don't think he'll factor in as much as under Norm.  He's a great body and a great hustler and Norm said publicly that he wanted him to score more.  He needs to embrace his role.

We knew it wouldn't be a seamless transition. Evans talent. A lot of them do, too.
This is their chance to put it all together. The coaching is there.

Norm wanted Evans to score more?  He could have.  At the free throw line!  But seriously, here's where Burrell's injury comes in.  If he can be motivated to be more active down low, they can sit Evans.

Yeah I agree.  Though, I imagine it must be tough for Evans to hear this after 3 years of Norm treating him like the next coming of Magic Johnson...or something.  I hope and believe Evans will embrace his role of bulldog soon if he wants any PT, but you never know with seniors...

Imagine if Lavin had replaced Norm before Geno's last season.lol
Geno -"what do you mean I am not starting, this offense revolves around me"
Lavin-"Um.... gee this is awkward.... you....you are not good"

it sometimes takes people longer to "get" a new system.  i'd be surprised if he wasn't on board by this time next month.

as far as coker being a project.  it's obvious the post wasn't at midnight madness.  coker looked like a young willis reed out there.  do you believe in miracles??

Hey I am as happy as the next guy about Lavin but lets not go around saying crazy things! Willis Reed? As far as Coker is concerned I would be happy with a young Yinka Dare.

Figures you would bring up the player directly responsible for bringing us "the program destroyer".

i'll put it in perspective.  in the ten plus minutes he was on the floor...with no fouls called...and no defense played...dele coker looked like the willis reed i saw when he was a rookie on the knicks...he looked better than the willis reed who hobbled his way into championship immortality a few years later.

last year, dele looked like a guy with great potential and no direction.

let the games begin.

If Lavin & Co can teach Coker to play defense w out fouling, we'd have something.

That's it!  Coker's new nickname is "Young Willis."

I thought Lenn Robbins was a nice person who didn't know what he was talking about? Or does that critique only apply to the other paragraphs?

Then we would have both the different strokes kids on the roster, becuase even though Dele looks nothing like Arnold's big brother his basketball skill set is probably closer to Willis Drummond then Willis Reed. If Coker can manage to block some shots and grab 5 or 6 boards while managing not to foul everyone within his 5 mile radius I will be happy. And if not he still has a cool new nickname whose namesake defended Arnold from the Gooch and dated a young hot Janet Jackson which is allright in my book.
