All Burrells injuries have been bone related (exception last season with rolled ankle) he's more unlucky than anything.

I have no knowledge of who our trainer is but I would have fired that guy 5 years ago.

I think its ron linfonte and he's been with us forever?

If these were all muscle injuries I'd agree with you, but they are bone injuries.  Just bad bad luck, and burrell is probably injury prone.

This is terrible news! Justin has a hard enough time asserting himself. Missing games then coming in he is going to struggle even more. We needed Justin to be our best low post player becuase no one else on the team has the skill level of Justin Burrell of his Frosh season. Bad loss, going to make getting into the NCAA's this year a tough road.

Thanks Kob, good to hear it's not too serious.
Just one question: if he's out 6 weeks, wouldn't he miss several games?

11/6 vs Westmont. Whatever that is. Shouldn't need any one player this for.
11/16 vs St.Mary's. That's going to be a close one. He might not make it back for this. It's like 4 and a half weeks.
11/17 vs Columbia. No need to bring him back for this if he's not already back for St.Mary's.
11/25 vs Ball State. They seem like an average mid major.

Personally, I don't expect him to be back for St.Mary's, but we'll see.

St. John’s senior forward Justin Burrell has broken a bone in his left hand and will miss 4-5 weeks – a recovery time approximately two weeks shorter than what was originally anticipated – head coach Steve Lavin announced on Monday.

“It’s unfortunate for an athlete to begin his senior season with an injury, but the result turned out better than we anticipated,” said Lavin. “Justin has worked extremely hard this offseason to prepare himself for an outstanding senior year. Our staff has been impressed with the maturity and poise he has shown in responding to this setback. We’re looking forward to monitoring his progress over the next few weeks.”

Sju has always been an injury away from reaching their goal.

Kid, I hear ya, it's sports, but if you played them, and I think we all have, eventually you get a rep as injury prone, and as a unit, these 9 seniors are.

It's very frustrating. We have a half dozen shooting guards/small forwards. But Burrell is much harder to replace.

Hope he is back for St. Mary's. Getting these great players is awsome. But you send a message on the court. Opening up on national TV we need a win.
